Job Purpose 

The maintenance instrument engineer is expected to lead a small instrument maintenance team and contractors to execute Routine and non- Routine , assist to execute TA specified C2 plant(s). Contact ES to analyze the cause of instrument failure and eliminate the failure. following the maintenance scope arrangement of area and the demand from the unit, Complete the equipment repair/maintenance tasks with fully compliance to the company HSE rules, to maintain the reliability of the equipment in the responsible scope with proper PM plan, timely corrective maintenance, and keep the complete maintenance record in the SAP system, coach and manage the responsible instrument technicians.

Job Dimensions 

Lead around 5 to 15 members including instrument technicians and contractors for specified plant(s) according to the scale of the plant(s).
The maintenance scope of this role is all field instrument devices and facilities inclusive of transmitters, control valves, instrument cables, junction boxes, local panel, PLCs located in the field, flow computer, Woodward Governor and etc. (exclusive of QMI devices) in the responsible process units.

Key relationships:
Direct report to Head of Maintenance, indirect report to Head of Instrument Engineering and key internal/external stakeholders are Disciplines Engineers, Process Control Technologists, Process Technologists, DCS team, Operation team, FNCP and etc.

Principal Accountabilities 

1.Provide effective and efficient maintenance on instrument systems so as to ensure a smooth and safe operation of the plants assigned.
2.Implement a detailed test programme of all the safeguarding systems in the plants assigned to ensure high availability of these systems which are vital in the protection of the units.
3.Establish safe and proper working procedures and also to implement changes that will streamline the maintenance of instrument systems in the complex.
4.Provide technical advices on instrumentation to Operations and other engineering departments in the plants assigned.
5.Prepare sufficient level of spare parts used on instrument maintenance of plant assigned
6.Ensure that all applicable instrumentation database and associated information is well kept, secured and always updated.
7.Ensure that all work is carried out in a safe manner by enforcing the company safety regulation, government legislation and national/international standards.
8.Contribute input to annual cost budget for the area maintenance activities and monitor/control spend against budget
9.Develop/acquire best practices through both internal and external networking to ensure the plants operate to world class standards.
10.Motivate, encourage and seek improvement to HSE efforts so that it becomes part of the daily routine for technicians and contractors.
11.Working effectively within multi-discipline teams and manage a number of instrument technicians.
12.Trains and upgrades the skills of the instrument technicians in the latest technology of instrument and to develop the technicians to their fullest potential.
13.Contribute to the plant availability through the management and maintenance of the plant Instrument Reliability KPI.

Qualifications & Experience

1.Educational background:
•University Degree in Engineering or Instrumental Automation.
2.Work experience:
•Minimum 5 years petrochemical and maintenance experience. Previous working experience in a JV environment would be an advantage.
3.Language proficiency:
•English level CET≥4 or equivalent.
4.PC skills:
•Proficient in PC skills.
