Job Purpose 

1. Provide analysis and financial evaluation in business development projects
2. Support business planning & strategy of some lower olefin products.

Job Dimensions 

The C1 complex produces over 1 million tons of ethylene and 2.8 million tons of main products annually. C1 annual margin is estimated to be over CNY6 billion.
The C2 complex would double the annual production.
Key relationships: Business Development Team, LOP/SM Team, Marketing & Strategy Team
Decisions made:
1. Analysis and financial evaluation of business development projects.
2. Crude C4 and OCU-related market analysis. Annual business plan and scorecard.

Principal Accountabilities 

Business Development Analysis:
1. Work closely with the Business Development Team, and related Product Teams in new Over-the-Fence (OTF) opportunities, e.g.alternative value evaluation, long term contract proposal.
2. Incorporate business development initiatives in annual business plan for the company. This is usually a 5-year plan. Prepare and translate presentation materials.
3. Develop and maintain business development scorecard and KPIs
4. Conduct financial evaluation for project and contracts together with corporate planning team, including the application of discounted cashflow model.
5. Manage knowledge related to the OTF projects, e.g. maintain relevant literature, facilitate exchange of updated knowledge, liaise with other BAs for database maintenance.
6. Participate actively in business development’s key initiatives, e.g. update and review of OTF Strategy, Commercial Governance Process.

LOP Business Analysis:
1. Focus on crude C4 and OCU related products: raffinate, hydrogen, MTBE, etherified C4, iso-butene, butane-1, liquefied fuel gas, EB, C5, C9, C10.
2. Develop the business plan related to the above products. This is usually a 5-year plan. Align it with other teams including New Business Development.
3. Build up, maintain, and improve market intelligence and performance tracking databases in timely and reliable manner.
3. Provide monthly commentary on the business performance and forecasts
4. Provide analytical support to product manager on supply/demand trends, product pricing/margin outlook and contract negotiations with customers.
5. Keep connection with market intelligence consultants. Optimize and collect market reports, and share with related teams.
6. Provide any ad hoc analytical support for evaluation of business improvement ideas and problem resolution for company, e.g. product swap arrangements, sharing of facilities and tracking of competitive price.

Qualifications & Experience

1. Educational background:
Bachelor degree.
2. Working experience:
Minimum of three years working experience.
3. Language proficiency:
Fluent in spoken and written English and Chinese/Mandarin. English capability will be a differentiated advantage.
4. PC skills:
Proficient in Microsoft software.
