Job Description:

Job Purpose 

The maintenance mechanical engineer is expected to lead a small mechanical maintenance team and contractors to assist to commission & start up specified C2 plant(s). After startup, following the maintenance scope arrangement of area and the demand from the user department, execute and complete the equipment repair/maintenance tasks with fully compliance to the company HSE rules, to maintain the reliability of the equipment in the responsible scope with proper PM plan, timely corrective maintenance, and keep the complete maintenance record in the SAP system, coach and manage the responsible maintenance technicians.

Job Dimensions 

The mechanical engineer will lead a team of 5-8 mechanical technicians to carry out day to day maintenance of equipment of plant assigned and to supervise the daily performance of mechanical contractors working at the plant assigned. Equipment in charge of includes compressor, pumps, pressure vessel, heat exchanger, furnace, valve and pressure piping.
Key relationships:
This role will direct report to Head of Maintenance, and key internal/external stakeholders includes operation OMC, RE engineer and inspection engineer, discipline engineer and FNCP procurement executive.
Decisions made:
1. Troubleshooting on equipment failures;
2. Resource assignment to carry out day to day maintenance work;
3. Material and spare parts preparation.

Principal Accountabilities 

1. Establish safe and proper working procedures and where necessary implement changes that will streamline and optimize the maintenance of the mechanical equipment.
2. Assign daily maintenance activities to subordinate mechanical technician and supervise the performance. Supervise the daily performance of mechanical contractors.
3. Provide technical advice on the maintenance proposal of mechanical equipment to technician
4. Propose and prepare mechanical spare parts
5. Ensure that all applicable documentation is well kept, secured and always updated.
6. Ensure that all work is carried out in a safe manner by enforcing the company safety regulation, government legislation and national/international standards.
7. Contribute input to annual cost budget for the area maintenance activities and monitor/control expenditure against budget
8. Develop/acquire best practices through both internal and external networking to ensure the plants operate to world-class standards.
9. Motivate, encourage and seek improvement to HSE efforts so that it becomes part of the daily routine for technicians and contractors.
10. Working effectively within multi-discipline teams and manage a number of mechanical technicians.
11. Trains and upgrades the skills of the mechanical technicians in the latest technology and to develop the technicians to their fullest potential.
12. Adequate planning and resource loading of the activities that needs to be executed.1. Establish safe and proper working procedures and where necessary implement changes that will streamline and optimize the maintenance of the mechanical equipment.

Qualifications & Experience

1. Educational background: University Degree in Engineering. Knowledge and understanding of the relevant technology.
2. Work experience: Minimum 5 years petrochemical and maintenance experience. Previous working experience in a JV environment would be an advantage.
3. Language proficiency: Able to communicate English at working level.
4. PC skills: Working knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel & Maintenance Management System.
